Illinois Democrats Introduce National Firearm Registration and Licensing Bills

Two Illinois congressional Democrats want to take their state’s gun laws and apply them nationwide with two bills they have introduced in the House and the Senate.

Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) has introduced H.R.6024, which aims to “provide for the implementation of a system of licensing for purchasers of certain firearms and for a record of sale system for those firearms, and for other purposes.”

Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) has introduced S.3002, which has the same intent as H.R.6024 and “for other purposes.” They are calling the pair of bills the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2018:

“People are dying and Congress has not only the power, but also the duty to act by passing common-sense solutions like this one that would help prevent firearms from falling into the wrong hands,” Duckworth said in a press release, adding:

“We owe it to the countless and growing number of firearm violence victims to take action. I don’t want my daughters to have to grow up in a country that won’t protect them from firearm violence, which is why I’m proud to join Congressman Rush in this effort, and we will keep pushing until all of America’s children are safe.”

The Illinois Democrats say the bills are modeled after Illinois’ Firearm Owners Identification Card (FOID) law. Anyone who wishes to own a gun in the state must first obtain a FOID card through the state police.

That seems like a good idea. My only question: how many criminals are going to carry that card. My guess, not a one… I don’t know what the answer is. I thought when I buy a firearm I am obliged to register it. In addition my SS card, government issued Drivers licence and/or Passport tells me that I can. (those documents signifying that I am an American citizen). Right?

The Supreme Court and the U.S. Constitution are the law of the land and trumps whatever laws Congress passes. This meme of Tammy Duckworth is a stupid remark stating that “Congress has the power and the duty….” This remark is a signal of ‘more control on guns’ while important laws currently on the books are totally ignored by them. Let’s not forget that for liberals, the law means nothing to them, i.e. sanctuary cities for illegals then releasing the rapists, murderers, back into society and all of the other ignored by them. Time for these control freaks to tell the truth of thier fecklessness or go back to school and learn the rule-of-law. Unfortunately, saying something like this sounds so good to the Democrats that it is impossible for them to control themselves; so it’s repeat the same old tired statements. For them, these memes are a creative attempt to pin their donkey tail onto Congress, insinuating that the U.S. Congress is feckless on gun control. Unbelievably, if these memes of liberals is repeated enough times, it becomes gospel in la-la land. It’s a sneaky way to trick those who are uneducated or choose to be ignorant to facts. Many who were fooled by their nonsensical rhetoric are becoming the wiser to their bad tactics and done with them treating them as they are dumb and refusing these ridiculous guilt trips by this echo-chamber. For the Democrats, it is to their dismay that the Supreme Court and the U.S. Constitution trumps such tom foolery.
