Marking the European nation’s holiday and commemorating the 100th anniversary of the US in the World War I, President Donald J. Trump saluted US service members that were marching in Bastille Day Parade in France.
President Donald Trump accompanied by the First Lady Melania, was invited as an official guest of honor and observed the parade together with the French President Emmanuel Macron, and his wife Brigitte.
Macron turned the parade into a celebration of the beginning of the French revolution but also he wanted to emphasize the unique bond between the two nations, by including American soldiers, flags, and the Star-Spangled Banner into the festivities.
While the US service members marched down the Champs-Elysees in Paris, President Donald Trump stood up on his feet and saluted all men and women of the US armed forces.
Later that day, French President addressed his nation and conveyed his appreciation to the US for its first World War involvement, noting that the bond the two nations have developed since can never be broken.
The French leader thanked the US for their choice from 100 years ago to take part in the World War I and emphasized that bond they have is strong.
