Intellects in both the leftist and conservative spheres seem to agree that former Vice President Joe Biden is the only Democratic Party candidate that actually stands a chance against President Trump in 2020. Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh, however, predicts that the Democratic Party will “fall apart” if Barack Obama’s former right-hand-man were to clinch the nomination.
Last week, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) noted in a tweet that the Democratic Party had its worst week ever by piling up the far-left insanity. “In just the last 7 days we have decided that the Betsy Ross flag is offensive, to kick police officers out of Starbucks, boycott Nike (again) Starbucks (again) & now HomeDepot. And to lick Ice Cream at grocery stores & put back in freezer,” he tweeted. “Has everyone gone crazy?”
Speaking to his listeners Tuesday, Rush Limbaugh concurred with Rubio that the Left has simply gone “crazy” and has no plans of returning to sanity.
“We’re past the point of no return on this,” Limbaugh told his listeners on Tuesday, as noted by Fox News. “We’re past the point of thinking that it’s peaked, that it’s gonna start rolling back. It hasn’t peaked yet. Meaning this perversion, wackiness, lunacy on the left.”
“The left is totally crazy. They have been totally crazy for a long time,” Rush continued. “And too many people have looked at it as just a fringe minority that doesn’t pose any kind of new existential threat, and that’s just not accurate. They have been threatening and posing a threat for years. And there hasn’t been any pushback until Trump came along.”
The famed conservative host did not predict Biden will get the nomination; if he did, however, Rush said the party would “fall apart.”
“They’re gonna nominate somebody that believes all of this stuff, the odds are. And if they end up nominating [Biden], that party is gonna fall apart. It may be in the process of falling apart anyway. But the left isn’t gonna fall apart,” Rush predicted.
Former Vice President Joe Biden has maintained his lead in the polls despite his poor performance at the first Democratic Party presidential debate. He is trailed behind by far more extreme candidates, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) or Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), who are both close to being within striking distance of the nomination.
Limbaugh is just one of many voices in the media (both Left and Right) who have predicted that the Democratic Party virtually has no shot of winning 2020 if it insists on moving far-left on virtually every issue, from taxpayer-funded abortion to free healthcare for illegal immigrants. BET co-founder Robert L. Johnson (a longtime Democrat) predicted this week that Trump will clear 2020 due to the party’s extremism.
“I think at the end of the day, if a Democrat is going to beat Trump, then that person, he or she, will have to move to the center and you can’t wait too long to do that,” Johnson said on CNBC’s Hadley Gamble. “The message of some of the programs that Democrats are pushing are not resonating with the majority of the American people.”
