The entire NFL melodrama took much larger proportions than initially expected, with even President Trump severely condemning the move. Now, as the President is set to leave for Puerto Rico, where he’ll cater to Americans located in the country, Americans began worrying even more.
Hosts at ‘The View’, however, felt the need to comment Trump might not even be aware that citizens of Puerto Rico are Americans. citizens.
Without creating an additional fuss, the White House has been tirelessly working to help out those in need over in Puerto Rico, following the severe impact by Hurricane Maria.
Another thing worth mentioning was the fact that Obama, back in his day, rarely took off to visit a natural disaster site in its aftermath, so the push for Trump’s visit is redundant. Ricardo Rosselló, governor of Puerto Rico, opened up on ‘The View’ and much to the hosts’ disappointment, he actually praised the White House for already doing so much:
“The president has been in contact with me almost on a daily basis. He is aware of the devastation. I thank him for issuing emergency declarations, issuing disaster declarations verbally as the storm was hitting Puerto Rico. He has also given instructions to FEMA and other federal agencies to help Puerto Rico. That effort is ongoing, and it’s very good. It’s very effective.”
Geraldo Rivera, who is currently based in Puerto Rico, also shared his opinion on the entire Trump-hating aspect the liberals are so caught up on:
He's not being blamed for nature, he's being blamed for a lack of response which is well-deserved.

Plz! Only one politicizing this tragedy is Trump! Talking about their debt, criticizing the Mayor who's begging for help!

Geraldo backstabbing his own people for a Fox News paycheck. Truly a sad moment for Geraldo Rivera.

His comments were immediately greeted with criticism by the left, although people in Puerto Rico at the moment or those who have families over there, stood in Rivera’s defense:
I am Puerto Rican and I couldn't agree more. Thank you for covering the relief efforts. It's hard to watch w/o crying 🇵🇷

People replying that do not have a clue need to STOP. My family in PR know the neglect and abuse of government on the island.
