Leave it to Sen. John McCain to trash his fellow-Republicans on beliefs he only shares with himself. The Senator didn’t waste any time criticizing Donald Trump in a fairly recognizable manner, in regards to Trump’s recent warning sent to North Korea.
When Trump advised that North Korea “best not make any more threats to the United States” or “they will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen,” McCain couldn’t wait to respond.
“The great leaders I’ve seen don’t threaten unless they’re ready to act, and I’m not sure President Trump is ready to act. I take exception to the president’s comments because you got to be sure you can do what you say you’re going to do.”
McCain also spoke how he doesn’t really get where Trump is coming from, noting “I’ve long ago given up trying to interpret what he says.”
However, a decade ago, McCain himself was asked whether he thinks military force had to be implemented in Iran, to which he replied: “You got to be sure you can do what you say you’re going to do” sang “Bomb Iran” to the Beach Boys’ classic hit “Barbara Ann.”
“That old, eh, that old Beach Boys song, ‘Bomb Iran,’” he said, chuckling. “Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, anyway, ah.”
The thing is that McCain’s former opinions may be closer to Trump’s than he’d like to admit, which is so mind-boggling, given the fact that McCain won’t just admit that Trump is, as always, right.
Or, perhaps he’d like to think that as far as the Iran case is considered, he was right to say so, but Trump is now not?
Oh, the hypocrisy!
McCain has set his gaze on Trump’s actions and deeds so deep, that he couldn’t even dare to praise the POTUS on certain aspects. He deliberately sabotaged the Obamacare repeal, he rebelled against Trump on introducing the transgender military ban, and he made sure to fight him on almost any other issue.
I cannot help but think that McCain might want to flee over to the left side, but he is perhaps too petrified to do it?!
In any case, McCain’s babbling strikes Americans as pointless, because when he had the chance to make a difference, he did nothing.
Whole lot of talking isn’t doing this country any good, Senator.
